7 Days Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Travel To Akagera National Park & Evening Game Drive

A professional guide from ADVENTURE IN THE WILD SAFARIS will pick you up from either the hotel or at the airport and you start enjoying your 7 days Rwanda safari which you will start with a city tour in Kigali where you are to visit the different places of the city including the museums, local markest, and genocide sites. After the city tour, you will proceed to akagera national park. On arrival, you will have your lunch and afterward, you go in for the evening game drive expecting to see giraffes, antelopes, lions, buffalos, zebras, and elephants.

Day 2: Early Morning Game Drive And An Evening Boat Cruise

Your second day will start with leaving the lodge with a packed breakfast and then going for the morning game drive where you have a chance to see leopards, lions, buffalos, zebras, and many more. After enjoying the morning wildlife you will return to the lodge for refreshment and then lunch. After having your lunch you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see the hippos, crocodiles, and the different water birds that include the African fish eagle, cormorants, and many more. After the boat cruise, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive Then go To Nyungwe Forest 

Day 3 will be started with a morning game drive where you will leave the lodge with a packed breakfast and all your staff because after the game drive we are transferring to nyungwe forest national park.

On your way to nyungwe national park you will have a stopover for lunch and then proceed to nyungwe forest national park. On arrival at your lodge, you will refresh and later you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking And Evening Tea Plantation 

After having early morning breakfast you will leave the lodge and go to the park headquarter for briefing before the chimpanzee trekking starts. Here you will be given ranger guides and trackers and you will head to the forest for the chimpanzee trekking. After allocating the chimpanzee you will be allowed to spend only one hour with the chimpanzees and don’t forget that chimpanzee trekking is quite an active activity compared to gorilla trekking. After the trekking, you will go back to the lodge for refreshing and lunch.

After having your lunch you will go for the tea plantation tour at the gasikura tea plantation where you will have a chance to taste the best local black tea and also interact with the different tea workers. While at the gisakura tea plantation you will also have a chance to see the happy members of the colobus monkeys that crib in the forest in the middle of the tea plantation. After here you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Canopy Walk And Then Transfer To Lake Kivu

On day five, you will enjoy your breakfast accompanied by the sweet sunrise and after such a memorable breakfast the guide will drive you to the uwinka reception center for the canopy walk. During this activity, you will enjoy the great view of the forest on the 50 meters above walkway with over 200meter walkways being entertained by the birds and plenty of primates playing in the trees.

After the canopy, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the forest and the tea plantations as the guide drives you back to the lodge for lunch. During the evening you will transfer to Lake Kivu.

Day 6: Visit At Lake Kivu And Then Transfer To Volcanoes 

You will spend your whole day at lake Kivu relaxing from the previous activities. You can have optional walks and boat rides on lake Kivu and later in the evening, you will transfer to the volcanoes national park.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking And Then Departure

You will leave the lodge early morning with all your language and packed breakfast and then drive to the park’s headquarters for briefing and gorilla family location. You will leave the headquarters with ranger guides and tracker who will lead you as you look for the endangered mountain gorillas and after finding them you will spend an hour with them and then leave the park. From here our guide will either drive you to the airport or the hotel, any place of your choice. This day marks the end of your 7 days Rwanda safari.

The trip will start from Kigali International Airport to Akagera National Park to Nyungwe National Park to Volcanoes National Park to Ibyiwacu Cultural and you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport.
